Financial Innovation Awards 2016
Hundreds of guests from the whole spectrum of the banking & finance industries gathered once again at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms to mark the 2016 Financial Innovation Awards.
Hosted by comedian, writer and presenter, Alistair McGowan and presented by The London Institute of Banking & Finance and their partners, the BBA, the Awards celebrated the very best the industry has to offer across a huge range of categories. And, with new awards for FinTech, payments and customer experience, the 2016 Awards reflected the rapid changes sweeping the industry.
While every project nominated was worthy of recognition, only a few could ultimately take home the distinctive “spark” trophy. Among the big winners on the night were a mixture of established companies – Lloyds, Barclays and NatWest – and exciting start-ups such as ClearScore and RateSetter.
The 2016 Awards were a truly global affair, with entries received from as far a field as Turkey, Brazil and Pakistan, all of who are delivering real change to their markets.
Alex Fraser, Chief Executive at The London Institute of Banking & Finance, offered his congratulations, saying:
“At a time when the banking and finance industries are facing a variety of complex challenges, both at home and abroad, the projects recognised by Financial Innovation Awards remind us of the importance of innovation in developing new solutions which drive the sector forward."
“In an extremely competitive field, the winning/highly commended entries were all worthy winners and we offer all those involved in the projects our warmest congratulations. These initiatives serve as a great example of the power of creative thinking and something for other organisations to strive to emulate.”
Thanks to everyone for such a memorable evening! To the staff, guests and to all the award winners and highly-commended entries we offer our thanks and congratulations.
